The 2023 Mercedes-Benz EQE SUV is a fully electric midsize crossover SUV that slots between the smaller EQB and larger EQS SUV. It has two rows of seats for up to five passengers and a luxurious interior to match its futuristic battery-powered drivetrain, which comes in single-motor rear-wheel-drive and dual-motor all-wheel-drive flavors. The handling is better, with loads of grip, surprisingly little bodyroll and more linear steering response that you’ll find on a four-wheel steer equipped iX. Sadly, the overly long brake pedal saps confidence, and while it can be punted along at a fair old lick, there’s little fun to be had. Put simply, the BMW iX rides better, handles at least as well and won’t make your passengers feel like chundering.
